AEW Dynamite (5/8)

  • Orange Cassidy vs. Trent Beretta
  • AEW TNT Championship No DQ Match: Adam Copeland (c) vs. Brody King
  • Swerve Strickland calls out Christian Cage face-to-face
  • Mariah May vs. Harley Cameron
  • Serena Deeb to speak
  • Chris Jericho & Big Bill in action
  • Kenny Omega to make major announcement

AEW Dynamite (5/8/24) Results

* Orange Cassidy def. Trent Beretta

- Orange Cassidy used an exposed turnbuckle to win. Trent Beretta attacked him after the match with a pile driver onto the steel steps. Don Callis tried to save OC while Kris Statlander came down to try to calm Beretta.

- A vignette shows Matthew Jackson, Nicholas Jackson, Jack Perry, and Kazuchika Okada arriving at the arena and parking in the spot that would have been designated for Tony Khan.

- In a vignette, Kenny Omega is in the hospital and he books The Elite against FTR and two mystery partners in Anarchy in the Arena for AEW Double or Nothing 2024. The mystery partners will be revealed later tonight.

- Tony Schiavone interviews Serena Deeb. She explains that she was suffering seizure complications during her absence from AEW. Toni Storm interrupts her and calls her a charity case. This leads to Deeb knocking out the AEW Women's World Champion.

- Rocky Romero tells Orange Cassidy in the trainer's room that he wants to try to win the Unified Six-Man Tag Titles together.

* Mariah May def. Harley Cameron

- Harley and Saraya try to attack May. Mina Shirakawa saves her and then they have a champagne toast.

- PAC is confronted by Jay White. White teases potentially challenging Kazuchika Okada for the AEW Continental Championship.

- Swerve Strickland and Christian Cage go face to face. Swerve thinks he has the backing of Brian Cage, Bishop Kaun, and Toa Liona. However, the Mogul Embassy turns on him and attacks him, dropping him with the Powerbomb. Christian is then shown backstage shaking the hands of Matthew and Nicholas Jackson.

- Willow Nightingale cut the promo and =promises to defeat Mercedes Mone at AEW Double or Nothing 2024.

* Jay White def. Rocky Romero

- Post-match: Bullet Club Gold tries to attack Rocky but he is saved by PAC.

- Samoa Joe vignette airs.

* Big Bill & "The Learning Tree" Chris Jericho def. Mo Jabari & Harlon Abbott

- Jericho hams it up in the post-match promo. He's eventually informed by Tony Schiavone that HOOK will return next week.

* AEW TNT Championship No DQ Match: Adam Copeland (c) def. Brody King

- Mercedes Mone promo on Willow Nightingale. Mercedes says she questioned herself following her injury.

- Adam Copeland and Kyle O'Reilly set up a match for the TNT Title on Saturday.

- The Elite comes out. Kazuchika Okada tells Kenny Omega to get well soon. Matt Jackson does the same for Tony Khan. Matt Jackson says Kenny Omega tried to end a 15-year-long friendship. Nick Jackson says the only reason Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler saved them is because they hate the Young Bucks not because they like Kenny. They accept Anarchy in the Arena. FTR came out. They reveal that they will be teaming up with Eddie Kingston and Bryan Danielson. The four of them go to the ring and they attack The Elite
